We had our 20 week ultrasound yesterday, and things appear to have checked out well. We also found out that this little one inside is a BOY! We are thrilled! We would have been either way, but just to be able to think about him and plan for him a bit more specifically now is great! I completely teared up when I started thinking about the fact that we were looking at our SON on the ultrasound screen yesterday. It seems weighty and fun all at the same time.
I also had a 1 day only sort of coupon for a travel system that we had been eyeing at Babies R' Us, so we hopped over after dinner last night and purchased that. I woke up this morning to Drew putting the stroller together in the family room. This is the first big baby purchase we've made, so seeing a stroller and car seat in our house was crazy to me, for some reason. I love it, though! The assembled stroller and car seat are now sitting in our immensely cluttered guest bedroom (which will become the nursery) until we can finish off the garage. Speaking of that project -- we had a local construction company that we know the owner of come out and take pictures and measurements yesterday morning. We'll go in for a presentation of their ideas next week. Not sure if it will be in the budget to have much of it professionally done, but Drew has less and less time home these days because of a crazy work schedule, so it sure would be nice if we could pay someone to get a good portion of it done. Considering that he is only home 1 out of every 3 or 4 weekends, we really are running short on time to get this done before baby comes. Not to mention that once we get the new office done, we have to move all of the rooms around and actually get the nursery set up (or at least to a functional state). It will be okay, regardless. I just want construction to be done by the time baby comes, so that we aren't dealing with home renovation and new baby all at the same time. :) Ah, well...the Lord has given us a certain amount of time in each day, and a certain amount of days in the week, and a certain amount of weeks in a month, etc etc... He is the one who creates our days, and orders them. It's good to remember when you're feeling short on time that the sovereign God created it. How could I say there is too little of it? He knows better than I how much time I need for anything.
