Chapman's Colorado Mountain Inspired Room
Well, the nursery is just about ready for a baby boy to live in it. There are a few more additions that will be helpful here and there, but we're almost done. I wanted to do it "on the cheap", so we painted the walls, used a lot of wall decor that we already had on hand, and the few things I did purchase were minimal. We used a big hanging picture that Drew's parents gave us a few years ago. We didn't really have a place for it until now, but the snow-covered mountain scene in the picture fit perfectly for this! We also used some old, wooden snowshoes from that I found in my grandmother's attic a few years ago. Apparently, my step-grandfather acquired them while he was living in Alaska decades and decades ago. I cleaned them up after I found them to go above our mantle in Colorado, but we hadn't found a use for them here yet. I also painted a few little animal silhouettes to hang, and framed some pictures from our time living in Colorado to hang above the changing table/dresser, along with a little "C". And, I found a cute little bear on clearance at TJ Maxx to hang on the wall. My mom and I made a little blanket to go on the rocker, and we purchased a little shag rug for the room at Lowe's. We found the dresser/changing table on clearance at Burlington Coat Factory (it was a floor model that they were trying to get rid of for 50% off!), and then we found a crib that was a decent match. And, we added the bookshelf to the room that my dad made for my college dorm room. It's fun to have some things in his room that were made either just for him, or by family members. Makes it feel that much more personal. Here are a few photos of the room!
