Waiting...

We've had to do a good bit of waiting over the last few months. I never have been very good at waiting patiently, which may be just the reason why I've been in a place of a lot of waiting. The last few months seem to have been one medical test after another -- wait for an appointment, have test done, wait for results, adjust or figure out next test, wait for appointment, have test done, etc... You see the pattern here. And, I must say -- though we are still waiting (on the most recent results this time), I feel as though I'm waiting from a better place than I was when all of this began. With much less impatience (though, don't get me wrong, I still get antsy and want answers NOW some days), and more, "Okay Lord -- we're still waiting, but really, who else could I trust to order my days but You?" I still pray for answers to come soon, for them to be the least concerning and painful diagnoses of the possibilities, and to find the right medication that works with both my body and my insurance company quickly. But, isn't it always encouraging when you can see little glimpses of the work the Lord is doing on your heart in the midst of it all? To know that He is lovingly working this and out for His glory and our good by sanctifying our hearts through times of less-than-ideal circumstances is a beautiful thing...even while waiting.
