A Little Update

I'm making an attempt at another post, here. I haven't felt much like blogging lately. I've actually been super busy recently. There are quite a few things that I am trying to get done before Drew comes home for leave. I know that he probably wouldn't actually care if a lot of it didn't get done -- he's just looking forward to being home. But, I want to try to make it as relaxing of a time at home as possible for him. And, I've just got some fun home improvement tricks up my sleeve that I've been working on. If you're interested in reading about it -- here's a list of some of the things I'm working on.

• With the help of some wonderful friends, I painted 400+ feet of crown molding that will be installed in our master and guest bedrooms before Drew comes home.
  
• For several weeks now, I have been slowly going about the process of sanding down a headboard that I purchased for super cheap on Craigslist, and I will be painting it black, to match some other furniture in our guest bedroom (hopefully). All I have to say about that is that I am thankful for the invention of the power sander.
• I started the process of weeding flower beds, pots, etc last week, but still need to do the hardest part -- the gravel beds (is that a correct term?? I mean -- they are beds of gravel, so I guess so) that surround our front yard. They haven't been weeded yet this year, and are looking pretty rough.
• Both of our cars desperately need a good cleaning -- inside and out, so I'm going to work on that, too.
  
• Countless other little projects around the house

So, I'm staying pretty busy these days. Not to mention, I think I've had more doctor's appointments in the last month or so than I have in the past 3 years combined. I've made 5 trips to the dentist, 1 trip to my regular doctor, and I will make my 3rd trip to the eye doctor today. That's just in about a month!!!

Well -- it's time for me to go work on some of the things listed above. We're looking forward to seeing a few of our Virginia friends and family later this month, when we make a super short trip back to the east coast!!! I am SO excited to see Drew in just a little less than 3 weeks, and I'm also pretty excited that I get to be by the ocean again for a couple of days. :-) I've told Drew that I'm like a fish -- I don't do well when I'm away from the water for too long.
